LG CNS and Doosan Sign MOU to Jointly Advance AI, Robotics, and Cloud Capabilities
Senior executives—Hyun Shin‑gyoon, president and CEO of LG CNS, and Yoo Seung‑woo, president of Doosan Corporation—took the stage to announce that the collaboration will establish a joint business cooperation organization within a month of signing. The companies plan to draft detailed operational plans that weave together their core strengths in AI, robotics, and IT infrastructure.
In the AI Transformation (AX) domain, the alliance will focus on bolstering Doosan’s agentic AI capabilities. LG CNS will bring its AgenticWorks platform—a modular enterprise agentic AI system—to the table, helping to chart business roadmaps that embed AI into manufacturing workflows and other processes.
The robotics (RX) component remains in the exploratory phase. Both firms are reviewing potential projects that could combine Doosan’s robotics know‑how with LG CNS’s AI‑driven automation solutions.
Data center and cloud synergies form a key pillar of the MOU. LG CNS will apply its cloud and data‑center expertise to upgrade Doosan’s IT infrastructure, while the partners will investigate the use of hydrogen fuel cells in data‑center projects, leveraging Doosan’s experience in fuel‑cell technology.
Manufacturing AX initiatives will harness digital‑twin technology across the lifecycle of production equipment. These computational models, which continuously sync with real‑world data, are expected to boost efficiency and enable predictive maintenance on factory floors.
The partnership also envisions joint ventures in logistics, targeting eco‑friendly mobility solutions. Plans include exploring hydrogen‑powered vehicles and other sustainable transportation options.
"The collaboration will combine Doosan’s advanced materials and energy capabilities with LG CNS’s AX expertise to create new business models that could lead global markets," Yoo Seung‑woo said. Hyun Shin‑gyoon added that the joint effort would deliver tangible outcomes, from AI‑based predictive maintenance to robotics‑driven industrial innovation.
LG CNS, founded in 1987 as part of the LG Group, offers services in AI, robotics, cloud computing, smart factories, and IT outsourcing. Its AgenticWorks platform is designed to support the full AI lifecycle, from planning to operation.
Doosan Corporation, a corporate holding headquartered in Seoul, has a long history in advanced materials, energy, and industrial machinery, and it has recently expanded into fuel‑cell technology and robotics.
The MOU represents a strategic move by both firms to deepen their digital capabilities and to compete more effectively in sectors where AI, robotics, and cloud services are becoming essential. By merging LG CNS’s technology platforms with Doosan’s industrial expertise, the partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of AI‑driven solutions across manufacturing, logistics, and data‑center operations.
At this stage, the companies are in the early phases of operational planning. The joint organization will be formed within a month, and detailed roadmaps for each collaboration area are expected to follow. The long‑term impact of the partnership will hinge on how quickly the two firms can integrate their technologies and bring joint solutions to market.
