Ugandan Startup Tyms AI Launches Human-First Platform to Automate Enterprise Workflows
The platform combines AI software with intelligent agents that take over routine tasks across a range of business functions. According to the company, the agents can handle day‑to‑day work in finance, sales, marketing, customer service, compliance, and other areas. The goal is to remove repetitive work so that teams can focus on higher‑value activities. Tyms AI positions its technology as an engine that accelerates teams toward their goals rather than a replacement for human workers.
Central to Tyms AI’s philosophy is the idea that people, not AI, bring the wisdom, judgment, and taste that drive business outcomes. Co‑founder and CEO Allan Rwakatungu said, “Our mission is to empower humanity to do its best work.” He added that, as an entrepreneur from a developing country, he believes business is a catalyst for progress and that the platform should help businesses worldwide focus on work that matters while AI handles the drudgery. Rwakatungu also noted, “A lot of people in AI talk as if people will be replaced. We disagree. People are the only ones with wisdom, judgment, and taste. AI doesn’t have those things, and that’s why humans are best placed to do business.”
Each employee and customer in a Tyms AI‑enabled organization receives a personal AI assistant. These assistants perform what the company calls “the invisible work” – collecting, searching, analysing, synthesising, monitoring, reporting, and executing background jobs. The assistants are described as bringing real intelligence rather than mechanical execution, moving work forward in the direction of each business’s specific goals. Humans then apply their judgment and taste to complete the work.
The platform is currently available on the web, and the company says it will add mobile and chat interfaces in the near future. Tyms AI also plans to integrate with workplace communication tools such as Microsoft Teams and Slack later this year. The company’s website states that the system is intended to help medium and enterprise businesses run their operations faster and smarter by automating routine tasks.
Tyms AI’s human‑first approach contrasts with many enterprise AI solutions that emphasize automation as a means to replace human labor. By positioning AI as a tool that frees people from repetitive work, the startup aims to address concerns about job displacement and to promote a collaborative human‑AI workflow. The launch comes amid a broader AI boom that has seen a surge in generative models and enterprise‑grade assistants. As an African‑based startup, Tyms AI adds to the growing number of AI companies emerging outside traditional tech hubs, potentially expanding the geographic diversity of the AI ecosystem. The company’s current focus remains on delivering a platform that accelerates business operations while keeping human judgment at the center of decision making. Future updates will include mobile, chat, and integration features that aim to broaden the platform’s reach across more enterprise environments.
